hello & welcome!

Hi, I’m Kimby Maxson (she/her). I am a licensed massage therapist, educator, writer, mother, cancer survivor, birth and death attendant, and joyful human living the most adventurous, authentic life I can.

I have operated a full time massage practice since 1999. I teach public self-care classes and professional lymphatic trainings. My passion is empowering clients and students to take their wellness into their own healing hands through education and example.

My areas of expertise include lymphatic massage, visceral manipulation, Ehlers-Danlos and hypermobility care, post-surgery and post-partum healing, and pelvic floor bodywork for womxn.

I combine science, education, intuition, and decades of experience helping thousands of clients discover healthier ways to live in their bodies. If you are looking for a compassionate bodyworker who trusts that you know your body best and is willing to work with you, chances are we’ll be a good fit.

I will never discriminate, shame or judge a person on the basis of race, color, religion, military status, gender expression, body type or modification, sexual orientation, physical ability, religion or any form of self expression. If you are a kind, safe human being, I welcome you to my practice.

Massage isn’t just a luxury — it’s a pathway to a happier, healthier life and a valuable tool in recovery and rejuvenation.

I weave these areas of passion and expertise into my massage services and workshops based on client needs:

  • Lymphatic Fusion™ — my own method combing lymphatic drainage, visceral work (gentle organ massage), soft tissue massage & movement

  • Integrative pelvic floor massage (for womxn with uteruses)

  • Medical massage (including oncological support)

  • Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and Hypermobility care

  • Pregnancy and post-partum care

  • Post-surgery recovery

  • Breast health

Lymphatic Fusion™

The lymphatic system is crucial for our immune system. Sluggish lymph can lead to frequent sickness, hormone issues, sleep problems, fatigue, headaches, digestion problems, weight gain, and cellulite. Created after studying my own lymphatic issues and working with thousands of clients, Lymphatic Fusion™ combines lymphatic drainage, visceral massage, soft tissue massage, and movement — along with tools such as oils, dry brushing, hydrotherapy, and cupping — to improve lymph flow and reduce stagnant fluid.

Post-Partum/Plastic Surgery

Whether you've had surgery like a mommy makeover, facelift, tummy tuck, liposuction, BBL, gender-affirming surgery, C-section, or another cosmetic procedure, Kimby has extensive experience in post-surgery recovery. She's worked with clients and surgical care teams in the US and abroad, so she's familiar with recommendations from diverse surgeons. Massage therapy after birth or surgery can help encourage healing by relieving pain, reducing swelling, tightening skin, managing scar tissue, recovering muscle tone, and more.

Ehlers Danlos/Hypermobility

Kimby has been researching Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) since her daughter was born with it in 2000. Kimby has a deep understanding of the complex symptoms associated with EDS and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD), Through a combination gentle lymphatic massage, bolstering, and visceral work, Kimby provides clients relief from many of the ongoing discomforts of EDS or HSD. She even wrote a children’s book on the topic calledThe Bendy-Twisty Zebra!”

Pregnancy/Breast Health

As a former midwife, Kimby specializes in supporting pregnant women, including those with high-risk pregnancies or special needs. She also provides assistance with breastfeeding, mastitis prevention, overall breast health, and treats swelling, congestion, pain, and scar tissue related to breast issues. Kimby's focus is on educating and empowering women to take control of their breast health, and she offers regular workshops and trainings on the topic.

Integrative Pelvic Floor Massage

The pelvic floor is a group of ligaments, muscles, tendons, nerves, lymphatics, and connective tissues. While all humans have a pelvic floor, Kimby only does this work with uterus-carrying females. This includes external massage of the belly, back, hips and legs, along with intra vaginal bodywork, which often addresses the source of chronic symptoms. Pelvic floor work can also be very supportive during pregnancy and post-partum, at least six weeks after birth.

Oncology/Medical Massage

Kimby is deeply knowledgeable about anatomy, physiology, and pathology. With experience in both acute and chronic conditions, she is ready to be a part of your physician-advised care team. Massage played a crucial role in her own recovery from ovarian cancer, inspiring her to offer similar support to others through massage and non-profit work. She uses innovative techniques to provide safe, supportive care to those dealing with challenging medical conditions.

Kimby is absolutely fabulous! She is kind, compassionate, listens deeply and is SO knowledgeable and competent especially regarding lymphatic drainage. In just one session she was able to help me with some really stubborn congestion and pain that was beyond what I could have imagined. She also taught me self lymphatic massage that I’ve been doing daily. In subsequent visits she’s helped me see the continued progress my body is making and meet me where I’m at for each session. Kimby is a gem of a human and is doing incredible work. I highly recommend her.

I have been going to Kimby for lymphatic massage after my extensive plastic surgery. She is amazing! It was difficult to find a massage therapist who knows how to do this kind of work, but Kimby is an expert and has helped speed up my healing process and lessen my pain. Highly recommend if you are looking for this kind of massage!

I just saw Kimby for pelvic floor bodywork post-pregnancy and delivery. The experience was even better than I expected. I gained an awareness of my pelvic floor that will aid me in my recovery from birth and help me heal scar tissue. I had a major energy release during the work that felt very healing. She is amazing!

If it were not for Kimby’s skill as a massage and lymph specialist I probably would not have legs or feet! My lymph system has a hard time working like it should and I suffer from lymphedema. Kimby keeps my lymph system healthy particularly my legs and feet - her skills are five star.

The Bendy Twisty Zebra by Kimby Maxson

This is the story of Rose as she navigates the myriad of symptoms that are a result of the genetic disorder she lives with. It is a story of strength, courage, compassion and most of all friendship. Rose and her friends learn that they might not be perfect but together they will all be okay. Rose lives with Ehlers Danlos but this story applies to all of us and all of our imperfections. It is a reminder that loving, supporting and accepting each other can make all the difference in the world.
